  • the digital literacy skills of students?

Devices

In the design of the learning experiences, have you considered…

  • which devices your students have access to?
  • whether these are personal or shared devices?
  • of these devices, which devices your students use to support their learning?
  • the levels of expertise in using these devices?
  • the value placed on each device for the importance to learning?
  • how students may make use of different devices at the same time (simultaneous use)?
  • how students may move from one device to another (sequential use)?

Connectivity

In the design of the learning experiences, have you considered…

  • how students access the internet?
  • the speed or quality of internet access?
  • the costs of internet access?
  • which cloud or other services students use to store and synchronise their activities and resources (institutional or external)?

Locations

In the design of the learning experiences, have you considered…

  • in which locations your students choose to study in?
  • which of these locations are public and which are private?

Learning Activities

In the design of specific learning activities, have you considered…

  • which devices students use to complete specific learning activities?
  • whether the learning resources or activities are accessible from different devices?
  • whether the learning resources or activities are available in different formats?
  • designing activities that take advantage of specific device characteristics? For example, a camera to take pictures or a recorder to record audio.
  • linking certain types of learning activities and device characteristics or apps that are specific to the subject or discipline?

Learning Support

In supporting your students, have you considered…

  • how you provide academic support to students using different devices?
  • how you provide technical support to students using different devices?
